Severe loss of vision is a problem faced by most elderly people due to age related factors. One of the most common vision problems in elders above age 65 is due to cataract which can be corrected by surgery. It becomes a problem when the vision loss due to cataract affects normal daily activities. This in turn leads to a limitation in their communication with the outside world. Corrective measures with visual correction surgery can rectify these problems.
